Spring is the season of new beginnings, so why not try something new with your dyeing?
This was a fun one to do. I am enjoying spin dyeing. 🙂
Japanese tea garden inspired dye on a Streamline Drift. I call this 🌸Tokyo Drift🌸
I added some hot stamped foil to some areas which was new for me. It was a labor of love
Stencil dye on an Axiom Crave. It was super fun to make, thank you for the prompt!
Custom Foil Red Rose with spin/fade on Fission Insanity
Here’s another springy one that I didn’t intend for this month’s dye-a-thon, but it certainly fits. It had a couple of runs, but I was happy with it overall.
Pansies on a Passion 🌸💜💛 Gave myself the extra challenge of only using (with the exception of black) colors named after flowers – Iris, Pansy, Lavender, and Dandelion
I like turtles.
DA, acetone, and goof off.
Messing around with clear acetone and goof off to add texture and highlights after the fact. Also found out goof off can make color saturation darker if you use it before adding color. Tried to get a gradient background, but had “erased” some minor mistakes with goof off, and couldn’t get a solid color. Sponged it with paper towels instead.
This disc gave me hell but there’s flowers in it so ✨spring✨ this is on esp plastic and the stencil immediately faded to a dull navy (I used onyx mixed with detergent). This was one of those dyes that you have to pivot over and over again and then crawl to finish line 😂 eventually I just said screw it and dyed the whole thing black.
I’ve never really played around with a pastel palette, so thought that would be a fun challenge. What’s more spring than flowers and rainbows???
Phones being weird and wont let me add a photo, so here’s the link to the disc 😅 https://www.instagram.com/p/DH53oFSu8qL/?igsh=NnEyYzBoNThxa2Q=
Thanks for letting me submit it a little late!
