PURRRPLE Rain Stencil I’ve done a few of now. AI assistance for initial idea generation and then into Photoshop to correct issues and make it stencil friendly. Final adjustments in Silhouettes software (I have a cameo5). Process is then what you expect — Apply stencil, hot dip for black sections, then 90% Isopropyl alcohol dye mix for the colored areas. Doing them on eclipse glow discs is a nice effect too. Full process long format videos on YouTube – http://go.discdyeaddict.com/youtube + shorts on both youtube and on Instagram – http://go.discdyeaddict.com/Instagram
Many hours of experimenting and patience went into the understanding of how cells bloom and behave. This is my design for this year, I try to create a new pattern for each season, so in a hundred years when I’m definitely still alive I can look back at all the different eras and how I was inspired each year. More cells and more designs are in the future, and as my understanding of cells continues to grow so does my motivation to create new designs. Shout out the the Minnesota Frisbee Association!! I do all their dyes

Lots of lotion, vinyl, and time. Oh, and hot dips. 😂.
An MC Escher inspired pattern on this glow servo. Weeding was a bit mind numbing but well worth it. Coloured the fade with a paint brush and DA. And a spin on the rim.
A stencil and Floetrol bed on this Innova star Fox. Love how the black and white contrasts with the floetrol
A stencil and spin dye on this Fission Octane.
Three of my recent dyes I’ve been pretty happy about. Recently got into hand foiling so I’ve been having a pretty fun time adding it to discs. Process is what you’d expect for these, did the black first, then lotion/denatured alcohol. Did the foiling last using my phone flashlight under the disc
Haute Wheels—-Foiled rims and offset treads….100% Custom. Using cold lotion paint for the black.
My first live was spin dyes but I’ve been gradually been leaning the arts of floetrol and vinyl stencils to round out my disc dying repertoire.
I wanted to compliment the stamp and just add something extra to it. I stuck to the color scheme of the stamp as best I could. I’m a sucker for bright colors and simple designs so this is 1 of my favorites so far this year. My wife loves it and talked me into sharing.
For this I did a floetrol dye for Gengar and the edge of the disc itself using iris, neon purple, and lilac all from PCAD.
I hot dipped it to get all the black lines to get that stained glass effect.
Then I foiled the gold, silver, and red to really have it stand out against all the purple.
Doing a lot of lotion and DA painting lately. Usual process on pizza, stencils, hot dip to start. Lotion paint the cheese, pepperoni or basil and sauce on the pizza. DA paint in ‘grease’. Special DA mix for the crust. China pattern was lotion paint with stencil followed by DA paint.
A couple of floetrol dyes from the same bed.
A fun one I did recently. This is an original, made in the same style as all the doodles I used to do in all my notebooks.
Hot dip stencil, followed by lotion painting.
My first attempt at this style. I saw something similar that I took inspiration from. This was a clear glue base with lotion on top in straight lines, the swirled a lil in the pan. Then 2 bullseyes with toothpick manipulation to make the flowers.
Back to the basics with some clear glue beds. Also designed the stamp on the fire disc for the Mid Atlantic Collegiate Championship.
Messing around with floetrol beds again after a year or so since the last ones.
Monotone stencil with a glue bed background. Been messing with 3in1 oil on glue beds with pretty awesome results. I’ll see if I’ve got more examples and put pictures in the comments.
Meet Jack! He’s a good boy! He’s always hanging out with me during my dye sessions. Any other furry friends hanging out with you guys while you dye?
Glow Halloween Buzzz, lotion painted
Meet Charlie Hustle….roller disc that gets on the ground and runs….. using lotion paint and timing for the shading.
