Turn trash into treasure and win epic prizes, all while celebrating Earth Day.
We’re inviting disc dyers from around the world to take on a challenge that’s creative, meaningful, and just a little bit wild.
Take a used disc, one you already own or find in a used bin, and give it a brand-new life. Dye it. Transform it. Turn it into something functional.
Together, we can show the disc golf community that sustainability and creativity go hand in hand.
Every year, thousands of discs end up in landfills. Cracked, lost, forgotten — but still full of potential.
This Earth Day, the Dyers Guild is proving that creativity is one of the most sustainable tools we have.
By dyeing and upcycling old plastic, we’re keeping discs in play and out of the trash.
“One disc won’t save the planet… but one decision can start a movement.”
Grab one you already own or pick up a used disc locally.
Use your favorite dye techniques to give it life and color.
Turn your disc into something new — a clock, wall art, planter, trophy, and more.
We’re rewarding creativity with some seriously cool stuff! Including one-of-a-kind discs and exclusive prizes you won’t find anywhere else.

The Upcycled Disc Challenge is about more than dyeing, it’s about sustainability.
It’s about rethinking the stuff we throw away, and proving that disc golf can be both creative and environmentally conscious.
When we choose to reuse, we reduce waste and celebrate what makes this community special.
Yes! You can submit multiple entries — just make sure each one is a unique creation with its own Instagram post using the hashtag #DyersGuildEarthDay2025.
Any disc that has been thrown, owned, or previously used — including ones you find in a used bin, trade for, or dig out of your stash. The goal is to upcycle and reduce waste.
Not at all! This challenge is open to all skill levels. We’re judging creativity, not perfection.
Yes. This challenge is all about giving discs a new purpose. It must be both dyed and transformed into something useful — like a clock, wall art, trophy, planter, or any creative idea you can come up with!
Prizes include:
Rare Ice Canyon discs from Trash Panda
Disc In A Box bundle + dyeable discs from The Disc Golf Guy
Gift cards and exclusive swag from The Dyers Guild
More surprise prizes added throughout April!
The challenge is open worldwide. Anyone 13 or older can participate. If you’re outside the U.S., we’ll cover up to $10 in shipping costs if you win; anything beyond that is up to you.
Post your dyed, repurposed disc on Instagram using the hashtag #DyersGuildEarthDay2025 between April 1 and April 30. Make sure your account is public so we can see your entry.
Voting is open to everyone and hosted through Woobox. Each person can vote once per day throughout the month of April. Encourage friends and followers to support your entry!
Absolutely! In addition to community voting, we’ll be picking a Judge’s Choice live on stream on May 6th — so every entry has a shot at winning.
Unfortunately, this challenge is Instagram-only for entry and tracking via the hashtag. If you don’t use Instagram, keep an eye out for future contests with other submission options!
