About Course

This two day course takes you on a journey to explore the Red-Blue-Yellow color wheel, and color theory. On day one, we will create a traditional color wheel dyed onto a disc, taking only 3 primary colored dyes and creating 12 total colors! On day two, we will then take those same dyes and create 13 more variations on the colors, transforming the 3 dye colors you started with into 25 total! By the end, you will have a framework and understanding to explore and create your own custom color palette and be able to expand your artistic endeavors.

Course Content

Class Introduction
A summary of the course, safety briefing, materials overview, and an introduction to the color wheel.

Day 1 – Creating the Basic Color Wheel
During this first day, we prepare the disc for this exercise and create the basic color wheel on the outer ring.

Day 2 – Exploring the Wheel
In this section we explore how to manipulate the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary colors a bit more.

Wrapping Up
Wrapping up the course, and extra credit!
